Good day to you all, and happy New Year! During 2014, some great ROBLOX games were released by some of the best developers on the site, so I am here to share some of my favorites from the year. The list is not based on visits or likes or anything like that, they are just some of my favorite games to play. It also does not include games released before 2014 even if they were popular during that year, such as
Work at a Pizza Place.
TylerMcBride's Super Bomb Survival became popular in July 2014, standing at the top of the games page for a number of weeks. It now has over 2.3 million visits and is still very popular today. The aim of the game is simple, you must try to survive the bombs and rockets that come flying down at you in the arena. The game has 55 really well built maps, over 20 different types of bombs and rockets, 20 skills and 9 perks you can buy with credits you earn in the game. Skills and perks give you advantages in the game, such as being able to jump higher or stand in lava without losing health. The game is laid out really nicely and although the game can be a bit easy at times, it is really fun to play.
Super Check Point
In my opinion, Super Check Point by Magic277 was the best Roblox game of 2014. Although it only has just over 245,000 visits, Super Check Point is an extremely fun game. It's an obstacle course with 30 levels, 4 game modes and a really fun, colourful design. The funky animations, music, unlockables and hidden features such as bonus levels make the game really fun and addictive. In the mode "Standard run", you have 25 lives to complete the whole course, making the game very intense and challenging at times. There is also "perfect run", where you must complete the course with just one life and "quick run", where you have 1 life as well as a time limit! This is a great game which all of you should definitely play.
Speed Run
Speed Run games became a new trend in 2014, with four different speed run games being released each by different developers. Although all of the speed run games are fun to play, my favorite is still the original, made by Lolbunnyface. The game was made in April and has gained over 4.3 million visits. The game is basically an obstacle course (obby), but instead of walking at normal speed, your avatar runs around extremely fast. There are 15 stages to complete, which get harder as you go along. I like how lolbunnyface put a twist on the classic "obby" genre to create a fun, faced-paced game.
The Quarry
The Quarry by Dummiez is a mining game which was very popular throughout 2014. "It doesn't fit neatly into any category, making it unique from the current popular games.”, Dummiez said in a recent interview with Roblox. It is true when he says that the game is unique, I haven't played any other Roblox game quite like it. It is not a game I play very often, however I know many people who have become addicted to it and with over 24,000 like and only 2,000 dislikes, it is obviously very popular indeed.
Murder Mystery by Nikilis, The Mad Murderer by loleris, Twisted Murderer by taymaster and Murder by CloneTrooper1019.
Murder mystery games is what 2014 will be remembered for on Roblox. Nikilis' Murder Mystery started the trend in January and was the second most played game on Roblox in 2014, one place behind The Mad Murderer by Loleris. His murder game received 24.9 million visits last year, an insane amount! Taymaster was late with his murder game, Twisted Murderer, which was only released in September. However, it still managed to get 7.6 million visits last year. CloneTrooper1019 also joined in on the murder craze, creating "Murder". Sadly for him, despite the game being very well made, it did not become as successful as the other murder games.
Don't Blink
Don't Blink, a game made by SmoothBlockModel, is based on "The weeping Angels" from Doctor Who. Players must try not to let the angels touch them, or else they die. The angels can not move if someone is looking at them, but at soon as it goes dark, or you blink, the angels can move. The maps are well made, and game play is exciting and at times can be very intense! SmoothBlockModel has done a great job making this Dr Who based game.
Stop it, Slender!
Stop it, Slender! is basically the Roblox version of Slender Man. Although it says the game was created in 2010, Stop it, Slender was updated over an older game by Kinnis97 in 2014. For those that don't know, Stop it, Slender is a horror game where one player is randomly selected to be Slender. Slender has the ability to turn invisible and speed run around the map in order to try and get the other players to look at him. All of the other players are trying to find 8 pages hidden around the map, without looking at Slender. If they look at Slender for too long, they die. They have 7 minutes to find the pages, if they run out of time, they die. The game is really well made and very addictive, however I wouldn't recommend this to young children or people who are scared of jump scares or flashing images.

Angels fifteen has the least visits out of all the games on this list, with around 130,000 visits, however is one of my favorite games of all time. The game's creator, Crazyman32, says that the game is still a work in process, so I am really looking forwards to the finished product. Angels fifteen is a fighter jet, dog fighting game, where two teams have to try to shoot down each others planes. Every bit of damage or each kill you do to another plane gives you a number of points, which you can use to upgrade your jet or buy a new plane. I have had hours of fun playing this game this year, so you should definitely give it a go!
Cube Simulator
TheAmazeman's Cube Simulator is the only paid access game on this list. It only costs 26 Robux and has just under 50,000 purchases. The objective of the game is very simple, one person controls the cube and everyone else must try not to fall off and collect gold to fire at the controller. Despite being so simple, the game is very addicting, due to its fast paced action, large amount of maps and in-game hats you can buy.
Roblox's Top Model by DizzyPurple is
"A fun way to use catalog items in game". It has been on the front page of the games page for much of 2014 and has managed to accumulate 7.5 million visits, making it DizzyPurple's second most played game after "Beach House Roleplay" which has over 10 million visits. Top Model is unlike any other game on Roblox, which is one of the reasons the game became so popular.
Berezaa's 2 Player Gun Factory Tycoon was the 11th most played game on Roblox in 2014, accumulating around 8.5 million visits. 2 Player Gun Factory Tycoon is "An epic two-player tycoon that allows you and a friend to rise and create a powerful fortress factory to dominate the battlefield!" I am not a huge fan of tycoons on Roblox, however this is by far my favorite tycoon game I have played.
The sequel of one of the most popular games on Roblox did not disappoint when it was released for the Summer Games last year. With new guns, maps and animations, Daxter33 obviously put a lot of effort into making this game. Although nowhere near as popular as the original "Paintball!", Paintball 2! has still managed to gain 1.3 million visits since summer.
This unique game created by "Builder of the year 2014" asimo3089 has been played just under 1 million times. Its fast paced gameplay, professional looking intro and beautiful design are some of the key features that makes this game worthy of this list. You should definitely play this game if you haven't already, and if you already have then you should play it again.
